I gave the the three girls on my Mad Panda / SECME team that are responsible for the banner my Arduino to play with a few months back and they had fun making lights blink, adding buttons… but it didn’t go much past that. As plans came together for the banner, the girls discussed adding some blinking lights and it seemed that a Lilypad would be the best little arduino for the job.
But we couldn’t get it to work… it didn’t help that we were working on it at the last minute! Programs wouldn’t upload, errors were returned, etc…
Here is what we learned by hitting several forums…
- Get the sketch ready to upload
- Hold down the reset button on the lilypad
- Send the sketch
- Watch for the first of three blinks of a red light on the serial interface. You need to let go of the reset button between the first and third blink. Practice, it happens fast!
- The sketch should upload!
Stay tuned for the final project!
